Macarons: Baked Fresh in Small Batches!

Macarons are a delicate French indulgence made with almond flour, sugar, egg whites, then held together by a creamy smooth ganache centre.

Old Firehall Confectionery takes pleasure in adding our own special touch to these classic delights by experimenting with new and exciting flavour combinations.

Macarons are said to have originated in the 16t century from the pastry chefs of Catherine de Medici, wife of King Henry II. The double-decker version we enjoy today was created in the 20th century, when French pastry chef Pierre Desfontaines decided to bond two of the delicate cookies with ganache.

With a light crispy shell and a soft fluffy interior, our creations are delicious whether enjoyed on their own, with tea, coffee or wine.
